La identificación de materia orgánica
vegetal permite obtener dataciones absolutas con la técnica del carbono
14 y precisar el marco cronológico y cultural de las pinturas levantinas
Los investigadores de la Universitat de València Valentín Villaverde y
Ernestina Badal, del Departamento de Prehistoria y Arqueología,
Clodoaldo Roldán y Sonia Murcia, del Instituto de Ciencias de los
Materiales, y Esther López-Montalvo, investigadora del laboratorio
TRACES-UMR 5680 del Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS),
han presentado la primera caracterización de pigmentos negros
utilizados en los refugios de la Cova Remigia en la Valltorta-Gassulla,
entre el Alt Maestrat y la Plana (Castelló). El objetivo del trabajo ha
sido el de identificar la materia prima de los pigmentos negros, las
técnicas utilizadas para prepararlos y poder hacer una aproximación a

Researchers from the University of Valencia Valentín Villaverde and
Ernestina Badal, from the Department of Prehistory and Archaeology,
Clodoaldo Roldán and Sonia Murcia, from the Institute of Materials
Science, and Esther López-Montalvo, from the TRACES UMR 5680 laboratory
of France's National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), presented
the first characterisation of the black pigments used in the shelters of
the Remígia cave, in the Valltorta-Gassulla area, between the Valencian
regions of L'Alt Maestrat and La Plana (Castelló). The objective of
